Digitisation is key to the efficient running of an organisation and archive. Whether you want to preserve original documents and have a surrogate or use the digital files to increase the accessibility and promotion of your archive to others. A quality digitisation service can even help your outreach programmes and engagement through exposure in online exhibitions, forums, news outlets and through social media.
Our experience spans many different archives and collections, from theatre and photographic to public libraries and private collections. We have the knowledge and expertise to bring your archive into the 21st century.
Why Choose Us?
We believe the less handling the better, if there is another method of digitisation we could use for the collection that would reduce any risk of damage or contact with the collection(an example would be overhead scanning vs flatbed), we will always recommend best practices to help you make the right decisions.
Qualified Archive Professionals
Our staff have over 10+ years of experience in the industry, including working in archives and on specialised digitisation projects as Archivists. We view each project as if it were our own collection and treat it that way also. With our industry knowledge, we can help make sure your digitised collection is integrated with your current cataloging system and that all metadata is stored with the digital images. So you have peace of mind that your collection is in the right hands
Condition Checks & Q.A.
We always record conditions of items when delivered, during the digitisation process and after to give you peace of mind. Digitised files are checked at numerous stages by multiple people and equipment is calibrated before each batch is started. All of this is recorded for progress and accountability.
Cost Effective Services
As our mission states, we want everyone, from households and SMEs to charities and larger organisations to have access to high quality, cost effective scanning and digitisation services no matter what the budget. Whether an organisation needs a collection of 10000 items digitised for a preservation project or an individual has one transparency they want scanned to be able to share it with family members. Our services are designed to suit any budget.
Minimal Environmental Impact
The Image Cloud is aiming to have zero impact on the environment and as a company that uses energy in our processes from lights to scanners to shredders, we wanted to do something about it. Our energy provider is now supplying us with electricity from renewable sources only.
Friendly and Helpful Staff
We pride ourselves on our customer service and are happy to answer any questions you may have in regards to our services and digitisation, feel free to reach us through our social media, email and online contact form. If you are not sure what type of digitisation you need, we will help guide you through your options to make sure you have the right service for your budget.
Depending on the documents, media or physical items, it’s not always wise to transport these collections to other locations, it may even be a case of security vs risk and we understand that. So we can provide a cost effective on site service, which would save your organisation time and effort to train staff or take them off of their current duties. Even if you just need an extra pair of professional hands for a digitisation project we can help.

Glass Plate Negatives
Glass plate negatives need to be handled with extreme care and attention. They need to be processed correctly. We find the best image comes from overhead scanning of a glass plate, similar to the digitisation of a manuscript. This method means less handling of the glass plate and a superior image to other scanning methods. Using the same photographic scanners as we do for documents and manuscripts, these are imaged at the highest quality.
Use of overhead photographic imaging means less handling of the glass plates.
